Relationship Property
Changing the title from Matrimonial Property Act to Property (Relationships) Act and making various amendments back in 2001 has extended the division of assets beyond conventional marriages to include de facto relationships.
This has also broadened the “contracting out” concept to allow couples to contract out (certain provisions) of the Act post relationship.
Even though separation and the drafting of these pre or post Relationship Property sharing agreement remain a legal matter, it inevitably focuses on division of financial assets; businesses, investments; real estate and income tax implications. This is where we can help.
